KALIBO, Aklan – To promote travel and tourism, the Philippine Airlines (PAL) is operating its newest route Hong Kong to Kalibo starting this April.

With promotional packages, Filipino tourists will have the chance to visit Hong Kong on April 27 via Kalibo International Airport, the premier gateway to Boracay Island.

PAL will commence operations from Hong Kong International Airport utilizing the 156-seater bi-class Airbus 320 aircraft. PR289 flight leaves Hong Kong at 1:20 p.m. and arrives in Kalibo at 3:50 p.m.

It departs twice weekly, every Tuesday and Friday at 4:50 p.m. at the Kalibo International Airport for two hours and thirty minutes flight to Hong Kong, according to the airline.

The airport lies about 1,483 kilometers from Hong Kong International Airport.

To mark the launch the new route between Hong Kong and Kalibo, the special introductory fare for round-trip economy tickets are up for grabs at HK$1,350.

The country’s flag carrier PAL is the second local airlines to operate the Hong Kong-Kalibo route this year. Last month, budget carrier Cebu Pacific also started its direct international Hong Kong-Kalibo service with its thrice weekly flights.
